A key feature of the Community Services Training Package is its flexibility and the way in which it recognises common competencies and skill development across the the children's services industry.

What this means for you is that you can readily move across streams, and change career paths with less barriers or obstacles to deter you.

This use of common competencies means that you can study early or middle childhood courses using many of the same units, allowing you at any time to take up the additional units that are related to specific age group.

Given the skill shortage of qualified educators across much of Australia, this information may be of particular interest to people currently working with children of one age group who may be considering a career working as an educator in a different age setting.

Interested in furthering your career in Early Childhood or School Age Education and Care, or perhaps you know someone who does?

For instance, you may currently work in an after school program. With recognition of prior learning  and perhaps direct credits from your current qualification, you may find that you only need partial training to gain a qualification within Early Childhood Education and Care.

If you seek a second in charge or management role, the Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management might be right for you. To enter this qualification you must first hold a Diploma. The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management not only qualifies you to manage within children's services, but across the whole of the community services sector.
