Implementation

One World Children’s Centre will take every precaution to protect children, parents, visitors and other staff from passive smoking.

Procedure

• The use of tobacco is prohibited in all children’s areas, including the car park, buildings or in the outdoors where children can see adults smoking
• Smoking can only occur in the outside in the designated area which is not in view of children or visiting adults (smoking can only occur during staff’s schedules breaks)
• Staff who smoke are required to wear their own personal protective equipment (ie a jumper or  coat while doing so, then remove this before returning to work, and wash their hands
• Management will actively support and provide assistance to smokers who wish to quit
