Absences

The Centre has a legal obligation to the Commonwealth Department of Health and Family Services to record all absences of children who are in receipt of Child Care Benefit within the Centre.

If your child has been absent, and you receive Child Care Benefit, you have a legal requirement to notify the Centre of the reason for each absence e.g. illness, rostered day off, holidays, etc.

If you use the centre on a casual basis your fee will not apply if you cancel the required care by 12.00 noon the day before. If we are not notified by this time your booked fee will apply in full.

Even if your family is not in receipt of Child Care Benefit we ask that you too follow this procedure, as it maintains consistency within the Centre, and assists us in our record keeping practices.

During all school holidays, public holidays and non-attendances, your daily fee still applies, according to the hours booked. You are entitled to 42 allowable absences each financial year. You are notified on your statement how many allowable absences your child/ren has/have used. Should your child use all these absences full fees will apply for any further days book attended or not attended as CCB will not be paid by Centrelink.
